Parental Involvement

We believe that parents are the primary spiritual leaders and teachers for their children. Each and every week your preschooler will bring home with them a sheet for parents to carry out the Sunday truths. These take home sheets will give you direction to aid in the spiritual development of your child.

PEP (Parents Encouraging Preschoolers)

Parents of Calvary support the spiritual education of their children by participating in PEP Club. PEP means “Parents Encouraging Preschoolers”, and parents do that by assisting in their child’s class one hour a month.

Parents, children, and teachers all benefit from the PEP experience:

Parent and child have the opportunity for a unique quality time together.
Parents learn age appropriate ways to teach spiritual truths at home.
Parent involvement and support helps teachers provide a quality learning experience for all children.
Children learn how special they are as their parents actively participate in their class.
Teachers and parents develop a relationship of working together to enhance the spiritual development of their children
Parents get to know other parents and the friends of their children in a special way.

BOOSTERS - Boosters are those who wish to serve in Treetop Ministries that are not parents of preschoolers. (i.e. grandparents, college students, couples, etc.)

PEP and BOOSTER need to attend a one hour training to equip them to assist in the classroom. These courses are given on specific Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights.

TIPS FOR PARENTS:

Consistent church participation helps children develop a sense of trust and security within their overall church experience.
Talk to your child about coming to church and create the excitement for them.
Communicate with leaders any allergies that your child might have.
If your child becomes upset, remind them in a kind, firm voice that you are going to church and will be back soon. If your child remains inconsolable after 10 minutes, we will come and get you.
Help your child develop ‘church security’ by picking them up promptly after each session. A child may become anxious when other children have departed.
