Intentional Ministries Planned At Convenient Times

Fall 2008

The following Impact courses are being offered for the Fall of 2008 at Calvary Baptist Church.  Please email the coordinator directly at impact@calvarytuscaloosa.org for additional information.

Sundays
5:00 PM - DivorceCare - Facilitator: Lisa Smith.  Sessions will resume in August.  Check back soon for more information.

5:00 PM - DivorceCare for Kids - Facilitator: Rod Poovey.  Will run concurrent with DivorceCare sessions for adults.  Check back soon for more information.

5:00 PM – Financial Peace University – Coordinator, Carol Mitchell. Orientation sessions will meet at 5 PM on Sunday afternoon August 3 and Sunday afternoon August 10. Only one orientation attendance is necessary. Regular sessions will begin on Sunday, August 17. Course cost: $95.

6:00 PM: Sunday Night Sunday School - Featuring Life Bible Studies. Led by Tim Plant. Ongoing sessions meet each Sunday at 6 PM in the chapel. Enrollment open to any adult. Please note: the lesson taught each week will be the lesson for the upcoming week in adult Bible study. Teachers are invited to participate in this class as a preview of their next week’s lesson.

Samaritan’s Walk – A ministry group providing spiritual and physical support for people experiencing a cancer event in their lives.  Open to cancer survivors and their spouses.  Meets on the last Sunday of each month at 5:00 PM in room 255. Led by Barry & Sheela Latham.

Mondays
10:00 AM - Stepping Up: a Journey Through the Psalms of Ascent. This six-week study by Beth Moore is led by Elaine Waltman. Begins on August 18 and will meet at 10 AM in Room 254. All ladies are invited. Materials $12.

Tuesdays
6:00 AM - Men's Fraternity: The Quest for Authentic Manhood - Begins on August 12 and will meet at the Allen R. Watson Annex.   Presenter: Tim Plant. Workbook $10. Men – Click here to open an online form to sign up or to request more information.

Thursdays
6:00 PM - MasterLife: The Disciple's Personality - Continue your journey into the deeper life in Christ as Avery Willis guides your study of how Christ develops your unique personality into his image. Weekly sessions include focused Bible study, scripture memory, and ministry training. The Disciple's Personality is Book II of the MasterLife series.  Participants must have previously completed Book I.  Co-led by Rick Mitchell & Barry Latham.  Materials: $12.

Dynamic Marriage -- Facilitators: Bill & Fleta Edwards.  Will meet on Sunday evenings at Calvary. Start date and other details to be announced.

Salvation - The Cross of Christ - Join Dr. Gene Carden to examine what the scriptures say about the biblical meaning of salvation through faith in Christ, and how that impacts our entire life!  Will meet at 6 PM in the portable annex.  Start date and other details to be announced.
