Facedown | College Choir

 What is "Facedown"?

Calvary's college choir leads several worship services at Calvary throughout the semester as well as ministers in other special church and community events.

WHEN DO THEY MEET?

 Tuesdays, 7:00-8:15 pm, beginning January 24, 2012.

What are the requirements?

Be a believer in Christ, striving to live your life to honor Him. Be a pursuer of Christ, faithfully seeking to know Him through His Word. Be an active college student of Calvary's College Ministry

DO I HAVE TO AUDITION?

Yes, if you are new. Please bring completed application to audition. Auditions are Tuesday, January 17, and Thursday, January 19, in the choir room at Calvary. You must sign up for an audition time. Call the office to schedule an audition time or sign up at The Well January 11 or 18. If you have already been a part of Facedown, you do not have to audition but you must still complete an application for this school year.

Download application here: Facedown Application

What should I expect at the audition?

Come with a prepared solo to sing accapella with appropriate interpretation and phrasing. This doesn't have to be memorized. Charlie Martin will vocalize each singer to determine vocal quality (high, medium, low). You will be asked to sight read vocal parts from familiar hymns and children's songs. All girls will be asked to sing the alto line, and guys will sing both the tenor and bass lines. Broken chords and short musical phrases will be played. You will be asked to sing what was played, kind of like an echo.

Are there attendance requirements?

Yes. While we understand that there will be times that you will need to be absent, rehearsal attendance and worship leadership opportunities should be a high priority.  If you have any other questions please contact Charlie Martin, Worship Leader Cell: 454-8838, Office: 758-0495, Email: cmartin@calvarytuscaloosa.org, or via Facebook.
